Loving Life, Loving Lives

I started this site in August 2009 as an attempt to chart my journey of consciously loving life and loving lives.

On this journey, these are some areas which I’ve chosen to focus on, and which will be the main topics covered in this site:

- Personal growth
–> Especially having the right perspective in life
- Learning
- Relationships
- Communication
- Psychology/Motivating people
- Business philosophy

- Personal growth

- Learning and education

- Business philosophy

I’ve found that it’s easy to get caught up reacting to the circumstances in my life– doing all the things I “have” to do, “ought” to do, “should” do, or “must” do. But I believe that the key to a great life is intentionally choosing to do the things that are in line with your values, your purpose, and your calling.

We are all unique, and we all have a very special purpose to fulfill. As writer Laurie Beth Jones said, we are all artists painting on the canvas of our lives. Some of us were born to be “sculptors,” while others were born to be “painters,” “architects,” or “caricaturists.” Yet we often listen to all the voices telling us to be a particular kind of artist, one that we were never meant to be.

A study was done in which 50 people over the age of 95 were asked one question: “If you could live your life over again, what would you do differently?”

Three things emerged time and time again in the responses. They said that they would:
1) reflect more,
2) risk more, and
3) do more things that would last even after they had passed away.

Let’s not wait until we’re 95 years old to decide that we should have lived our lives differently. Let’s intentionally create a masterpiece out of every day. Let’s be reminded that our destiny is not built in a day; our destiny is built day by day.

In Braveheart, William Wallace says that “every man dies, not every man really lives.” It’s so true– all of us are going to die. The question is, are we going to really live?

“Loving Life, Loving Lives” is an invitation to join me on this adventure of discovering what it means to really, really live. I’d be most honored for you to be part of this adventure.
